How To Remove Oil, Grease & Fat Stains From Your Clothing

Oil, Grease & Fat Stains

Chomped down that hearty sandwich too quickly and realized now that it has left an unsightly stain on your favorite pair of trousers?

Step 1
Begin by applying regular dishwashing liquid and gently rubbing it into the stain. Then, rinse the stained area under hot water and repeat the process if the stain remains.

Step 2
Certain stains may require stain remover as well as additional dishwashing liquid or liquid laundry detergent. When dealing with colored garments, it is crucial to use color-safe stain remover that is free from chlorine or bleach. Apply the stain remover directly onto the stain, working it thoroughly, and allow it to sit for approximately 10 minutes. Without rinsing, apply dishwashing liquid or liquid laundry detergent onto the stain remover, allowing it to sit for another 10 minutes.

Step 3
If the garment is washable, proceed to wash it according to the care label instructions. If the stain remains after washing, repeat step 2. It is important to avoid steaming or ironing the garment if the stain has not been completely eliminated, as this can set the stain further and makes its continual removal more challenging.
