How To Remove Ketchup Stains From Your Clothing

Ketchup Stains

Ketchup stains can vary in their level of stubborness and ease of removal depending on factors such as fabric type, stain age, and the specific ingredients in the ketchup. While some ketchup stains may come off easily with simple laundering or stain treatment, others may require more focused effort and techniques. One thing is for sure, addressing it as soon as possible by following appropriate stain removal methods guarantees higher chances of success.

Step 1
Act fast. Using a spoon or knife, scrape off as much of the sauce as possible from the surface of the fabric.

Step 2
Soak the garment in cold water. Ensure that it is cold, as hot water might further set the stain. Next, apply a stain remover or liquid detergent directly onto the stain and gently work it into the stain in circular motions, either with your fingers or a soft toothbrush. For coloured garments, opt for a colour-safe stain remover that is free from chlorine or bleach. In some cases, soaking the garment in cold water and subsequently rubbing dish detergent onto the stain may be sufficient. If the stain remains visible, repeat the process until it completely vanishes.

Step 3
If the stain proves to be particularly stubbon, consider using mild bleach before proceeding to the next step. For colored garments, make sure to use color-safe, non-chlorine bleach, and always check the colorfastness first.

Step 4
When the stain is no longer visible, simply wash the garment as normal.
